This senior is mine. And today he graduates. We took these senior football photos at the East High School football stadium after his season had ended for the year but you can see his football session at the salt flats on this older blog post. It was quite the senior year for him…and for me. Being a mom of a senior is much different than being a senior yourself or watching from the sidelines as your friends parent their seniors. Taking his senior photos this year was emotional for me, knowing what it all means in our lives. Knowing that he’s no longer a high school kid and that he’s moving on to the next chapter of his life, which means I won’t get to see him every morning anymore. I kind of hate that. But I also remember this time in my own life and how ready and excited I was to head out to school. I know he’s ready and he’s going to be just fine.
I am so very proud of this kid of mine. He has proven time and time again that he won’t back down from a challenge and that he is driven and focused on his goals and being the best version of himself that he can be. I am proud to be his mom and grateful for our relationship, he’s a pretty awesome young man (even with that crazy hair!). I’m excited to watch him this coming year at Utah State – only great things ahead.
xo,
