Is there something that your family just loves?
There are lots of things that we love…but the Seahawks are right up there. My husband and I are both from Washington state and he’s been a Seahawks fan just about his entire life…I’ve been one for as long as I can remember, although probably not with as much passion as he has been. The kids are all fans as well. My oldest had a brief stint as an Aaron Rodgers/Green Bay fan and we supported that, but he has changed his ways over the years and is a full fledged 12th man now…phew.
Because we are such Seahawks fans there are a lot of things that are in our lives because of that. We rarely miss a game…even if that means we’re trying to get the play by play on the radio or on the espn app on our phones. My oldest has his room styled around the Seahawks and each kid has at least one jersey (thanks Grandpa). My three don’t mind wearing matching clothes if they’re in Seahawks gear and they love supporting their team in a city that rallies around the Broncos. We take “twelfies” (selfies taken by the 12th man..it’s a thing) and yell “SEA…hawks!” a lot. We believe in the power of the 12th man and in the Beast Quake (another real thing, promise). So I document this part of our lives and it is something that I want them to remember. And I’m fully aware that they just lost on Sunday. We’re still fans. We’re the kind of fans that see another Seahawks fan out in the wild and we high five them…the “new” fans don’t always understand why. But the born and raised fans get it.
You may not be a Seahawks fan and that’s ok…kinda strange, though. They’re a great team. 🙂 But I’m sure that there is something that your family loves. Do you have a team that you all support? Maybe you all love to hike, or ski? Or all love superheroes? There’s something that ties your family together and I challenge you to discover what that is and start documenting it.
