These days, technology is a huge part of our lives and the lives of our children. The way that we use technology to make our lives easier…and more complex…is something that should definitely be documented and recorded. How do you use technology? Think back to your first computer, your first phone…when did you first see a cell phone? I bet it didn’t look like the ones today! Think about what technology will look like for our grandchildren. It’s important to document how technology is used in our everyday lives. In the collage below I have compiled a few images from the past few months that show technology in the lives of my family and how we enjoy it.

Some things to photograph in relation to technology:

• your phone
• your child playing games with your phone
• electronic readers
• the technology in your car
• people enjoying technology (my son watches tv, especially football games, with his football close by)
• kids taking selfies with their phones
• the weather app
• a tiny face lit up by a tiny screen in the dark makes a great image
• a stack of your favorite movies (dvds) or your netflix queue

Take a look around yourself over the next few days and really look at how technology is a part of your life and try to come up with some creative ways to photograph and document those things. These days technology changes so fast that it will be fun to look back at what you once thought was so amazing.
