In the course of a day most of us are traveling from here to there and back again…are you documenting those trips that seem a little mundane?
In 20 years when my children look back at their photos they will see the places that we went day in and day out as well as those places that were more of a vacation for us. I know that when I think back to my own childhood I remember many of the places that I would frequent and the times that I have gone back to visit my hometown I’m always amazed at how things have changed…and yet how many things have stayed the same. When my kids tell their kids about swim practices every day I want them to be able to see a bit about what that looked like. I want them to see that the movie theater that we go to looks a whole lot different than it did when we moved to town 13 years ago and will probably continue to change. The places that we go make up a lot of who we are and those places should be documented.
What are some ways that you can document the places that you go…either by yourself or as a family?
A little disclaimer…I often take photos from the drivers seat of my vehicle. I am always parked or on the side of the road…never photograph and drive 🙂
