After school at the Owens house is a little…busy.
We’ve always been pretty busy after school. The kids have been swimmers for several years and have always asked for more sports and activities…we have to actually tell them no at times. We’ve settled into a pretty good rhythm now and going back through my instagrams and photographs I see that I definitely document these times in our lives…I’m grateful for that. We spend limited time at home, lots of time in the car and lots of time at the pool, on the field and on the court. We do homework and have snacks…there are no video games and no cartoons (are there still after school cartoons?) and although we sometimes worry that they aren’t getting to just be “kids” I think they’re doing ok. This works for us. It might not work for your family, but it works for ours. So I document it. A lot.
In addition to my regular instagram images (seen in the collage below) I wanted to take a little time and grab a few images of the kids that are home after school…my little is missing in the images above as his school gets out a little later than the bigs. These days are going by so fast. Sometimes it’s hard to do all that we do, but looking through these images just makes me so happy. I’m so glad that I take the time to get the images and to document all of the things that we do in those few hours after school that we get to spend together.
What does your after school look like? Take your camera (phone or whatever you may have handy) and start getting photos of the things that go on after school in your world.
