As a senior photographer, I photograph a lot of teens. I hear their stories about where they’re off to next, I watch mom tear up a bit at the though of her baby going off to college. I see the excitement in the senior’s eyes as they are about to head off to the next step.
This year I watched my own senior grow and mature and start to plan what his college life would be. We did his football photo session at the Salt Flats, did another football session at the East High School football stadium, but this session was different. This was a session that we squeezed between all of the other things that we had on our list at the end of the school year. We grabbed his cap and gown and headed up the canyon for a quick photo session and I am so glad that we did. These photos show him as such an adult. It’s amazing to me how he has grown, I am so very proud of him and excited for his next steps.
This past weekend we dropped him off at his summer apartment at Utah State University. This mama wasn’t ready, but he is, so I’m surviving. It’s so wonderful to see all of their hard work pay off, to know that you’ve done the best that you can and they’re able to go and do big things in the world now.
