Our neighbors and good friends up the street asked if the kids and I might like to go on a little outing with them and we decided to head out to This is the Place Monument in Salt Lake City. We had a great time exploring all of the little houses and doing the crafts. It was extremely hot (as it gets here during the summers in Utah) and I would look at the people that were dressed up in traditional clothing from the pioneer days and I just know I would not have made it. Someone would have killed me off with all of my complaining about the heat, I’m sure. I would have loved the winters and the big dresses with all of the layers…but living in those small cabins with everyone in the very same space when we sleep would have been tough on me. I admire those that lived in this era and all that they went through to pave the way for today, I’m not sure I could have done it.
