Recently it was “take your kids to work day” at my husband’s office and my little two are still young enough to participate. My kids have been attending this fun day for years and this year my oldest was too old to participate. So we did our own take your kids to work day and went to a park to talk a bit about photography, location scouting and interacting with clients. It was great to get a little one on one time with him driving around town looking for a good spot to get some photographs. We headed first to a spot I’ve been looking forward to getting back to but it wasn’t open so we headed out to Memory Grove Park near the Capitol Building.
My son and I both loved that view above and we talked a lot about framing images and a little about aperature and bokeh (the blur that you get from different lenses, different aperatures and how far from the subject you are).
This photo above was one of my very favorites. I love that I can tell that it’s him, I love that it shows his confidence and his typical stance, I love that the camera is hanging from his neck and I love that we were able to share a quiet morning together.
