I’m not much of a gardener and I must admit that I do love a fake plant or flower…because I can’t KILL them. I kill most other plants. But I’m trying to get away from this. I’m trying to be a responsible adult.
I remember one of Jarrod and my first trips to Ikea when it opened near where we were living in Seattle we bought a plant and named it Sean. It eventually died. We had ivy trees from our wedding…I also killed those (Jarrod’s grandmother still has one after 17 years). Over the years we have gotten house plants here and there and from either under-watering (me) or over-watering (the husband) they have all seemed to have not made it very long. After our last kitchen plant died I decided it was time to try this indoor plant thing for real.

There are also some bloggers that I follow who have some really great thoughts and ideas on indoor plants. Elise Blaha Cripe is one of my favorites and she has a whole section in her blog dedicated to raising indoor plants. A Beautiful Mess also has a lot of great ideas and several DIY projects centered around indoor plants.
Are you a great gardener? Are you better with indoor or outdoor plants? Any tips or tricks you could pass along?
