Every summer we go to Lake Powell as a family with my husband’s family…you’ve been warned. This is a photo heavy post. Very photo heavy. But we had such a great time.
We love it here. Every year it feels more and more like home. My husband has been coming to Lake Powell since he was a kid and he brought me there for my first time in 1995. We brought our big there when he was just six months old and have barely missed a summer since. This is our daughter’s very favorite place to be. And this year she got to bring a friend. Our very good family friends were able to come this year too, as well as my husband’s father and our nieces and nephew and my sister.
We had lots of fun with the boat pulling the 3-man tube around the lake (my best friend and I even took a couple trips with her littlest) and the kids tried water skiing again (the photo below of my daughter water skiing is somewhat misleading…she did get up, but that was about the extent of it. But I got the shot!). We made the trek to Rainbow Bridge in the thousand degree heat and had some amazing dinners. There was plenty of screen time but lots of laughter and games and having fun. It was so great to see the kids being able to share their favorite spot with good friends. We’re already looking forward to next year. We are so lucky to have this opportunity to go and miss those family members that are unable to make the trip.
You can see another of our summer trips to Lake Powell here.
Stunning pics which bring back good memories. Did you once visit the Antelope Canyon (lower) too?
Thank you! 🙂 We love Lake Powell. We have visited Antelope Canyon before (I must admit, I get lost most of the time but my husband’s family knows the lake like the back of their hands!)
