As you may or may not know, I’m a wannabe scrapbooker (former and sometimes current). I love all things paper related and I do Project Life for my family and usually attempt December Daily and Week in the Life projects as well. You can see some of my projects under my Memory Keeping category here on the blog and as my kids are getting older I’m seeing that I really need to start making and creating the time to focuse on documenting our memories…and #printyourphotos . What I haven’t really done is documented our vacations or travel…until now. I’ve saved photos and bits and pieces from most all vacations that we’ve gone on (either as a family or on my own) and have them in ziploc bags in a bin in my office. I decided that it’s time to start working on getting some of those projects off of my list and into my reality and thought where best to start but on my most recent trip to Norway with my mom, aunt and uncle and cousins.
To start in on this project, I need to get a few things done first:
1 | compile all of my memorabilia from my trip (receipts, hotel card keys, tickets, maps, museum info, money, etc)
2 | edit my big girl camera photos…yes. I haven’t really done that yet.
3 | compile the instagram and phone photos that I want to use (yes…I took a lot of photos, click on the link to see just a few)
4 | decide on a format for the album…mini, full size, pocket style (I’m not doing a Blurb Book for this like our New York Blurb Book because I want to include a lot of memorabilia and I want it to be a more touchy-feely album)
5 | get some inspiration on Pinterest (see my board below) and by checking out some of my favorite scrapbookers and how they have handled travel albums in the past (Ali Edwards, Kelly Purkey, Anna-Maria)
Follow Carrie Owens’s board memory keeping | travel on Pinterest.
Have you created an album showcasing your travels? I would love some more inspiration! Send me a link or put it in the comments! Thanks!!
