I’ve known this young man and his family for several years as he’s been swimming with my kids for what seems like forever. He’s a year older than my oldest (and is now swimming in college) and I was thrilled to get to photograph his senior session in two parts as I usually do with athletes. This session was lots of fun, the weather was awesome – I love the reflections of the water on his face in this first image…the way the sunlight dances on the water has always been one of my favorite things about outdoor swimming!

I love photographing athletes, seeing their determination, their love for their sport. Knowing the hours that they have put in (and the help and support they have received from family and loved ones along the way) and that they have sacrificed much in their dedication to their athletic career.
