What are the fashions like in your world? Think back to the things that you wore as a child and how much they’ve changed.

What do your loved ones wear? How do they style their hair? Where do they get their hair cut, or do you do it for them? These are the things that show up in regular everyday images but take a little time to focus on some of those trends. My daughter does really fun things with her hair and so we’ve started to document those things (and have created a hashtag – #clairebearshair – for her series like in this post about documenting series). I also always make sure to snap a quick photo when the kids are wearing something cute or something that is totally them. My oldest wears a lot of Seahawks gear, so that is heavily documented, my youngest wears a lot of hats…I take a lot of photos of that.

Some ideas on what to photograph and document in your loves ones everyday fashions:

• Do your kids still wear their shoes on the wrong feet? Snap that photo!! Mine don’t do that anymore and I must admit that I kind of miss it.
• Do your kids wear a particular style of clothing a lot – document that
• What happens when your little one demands to wear her Halloween costume to the grocery store…in April? Let them…and get a pic!
• What about gear for sports? Mine are swimmers and they have a lot of gear, I photograph that.
• What do you do when your child picks out their clothes to wear and they just don’t match? Sometimes it’s not worth the battle – we want them to develop their own style, right? – but don’t forget to document those moments.
• What about you? What’s your personal style and fashion? Don’t forget to showcase that as well.
