Living here in Utah we are blessed with four seasons…I really love that.
I’ve lived in four states and my favorite thing about where we live now is that we have four distinct seasons…growing up in Seattle we had 2 seasons: rain and drizzle (I’m kidding, but we never really had a winter that compares to what I get in Utah). Living in the Bay Area of California we also had about 2 seasons: sunny and not as sunny (that one is mostly true, after the second year there I was really missing the rain and the cooler weather). I’ve lived in Utah for over 13 years and I still get a little giddy when it snows. Ok…maybe a lot giddy. I don’t love driving in it, but everything else about the snow is just magic to me. One of the most amazing things about living here is that each season I think “how could it get any better?” But it does. Each season is more beautiful than the last.
Your hometown might not be as dynamic with the colors and the weather as where I live, but that’s still ok…the changing of the seasons isn’t all about the weather. It’s about what you’re doing, where you’re going, what you’re wearing, what you’re experiencing.
Some things to consider and think about when you’re photographing your everyday and showcasing the seasons of your home:
