I recently had the opportunity to photograph this sweet girl just after she’d turned one. Her shoot took place in the studio as her brother played with the toys and did his best to get his little sister to smile. I just loved her outfit (does that ruffled cardigan come in adult sizes??) and her adorable little pigtails. She’s a sweet little girl with the cutest little dimples! This past week I had the opportunity to photograph one of my recent newborns with his older brother at their home. It was such a treat to see how baby c had grown in just the two short months that I had been there to photograph him after his birth. He is so loved by his older brother who just wants to cuddle and love on his younger brother and do anything he can to help his mom out. And who wouldn’t want to help out with a baby brother as cute as this little guy??

As the days get cooler and there is snow on the ground, deciding what to wear for your session for your young ones can be difficult. Take a look at past what to wear posts as well as this one to get ideas and inspiration for your own session…and remember, clothing changes during your session are encouraged as long as your little one can handle the changes. Also remember to think about layers and accessories, scarves and hats add great dimension to your images and also can give those little ones something to distract them.
It was a pleasure meeting this family for a super quick session, their son was adorable and you could tell how well loved and happy he was! Enjoy this little peek!

Last night as I was finishing up editing some newborn photos and moving onto another set I realized that my mind was racing…I couldn’t stop thinking about how much I really love what I’m doing. It was late, the kids were already asleep, I had some DVR’d shows (American Idol) that I needed and really wanted to watch…but I didn’t want to stop doing what I was doing to go into the other room to relax. I was thinking about the shoots that I have planned for next week – including a 2 day shoot at a school that I am so very excited about, and the shoots that I have in my mind that I want to do and I realized that I was just so excited about them.
I know that I am very lucky to have the opportunity that I do to live out my dreams and be a photographer. I know that I’m lucky that I have my three kids who are willing (most of the time) to model for me, test out locations for shoots and try out some of the ideas I have floating around in my head. I know that I’m lucky that I have a super supportive husband who encourages me and pushes me to be the best me that I can be. I’m lucky for the amazing clients that I’ve met and been able to get glimpses into their lives.
